Ranchi : Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said that the govt. priorities to make the village organization strong and active.
SHG/CRP/CLF will be made more effective to upgrade the lives of the rural people. The govt. is committed to uplift the livelihood of unemployed boys/girls of villages through training program.
The members of SHG will also act as MGNREGA mate. The govt. is focusing on necessary aspects of rural development, agriculture, education, health and skill development.
It is responsibility of the administration to realize the govt.’s scheme on ground level. She said it while reviewing National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in her office chamber at Project Building.
Verma said that the govt. has selected schemes to benefit SHG. SHG members will be trained and connected with various types of work. She directed the SHG officers to fix the responsibility of district program manager.
She said that barren land will also be made fertile to boost up agriculture in the state. SHG should focus on it. The people related with agricultural work should coordinate with district agriculture officer.
She said that the SHG can run agro-store for which the govt. will provide license. The govt. will expense Rs. 25 cr for making fishing net. Poultry and goat rearing will be promoted in villages.
Regarding animal husbandry, SHG people can contact district livestock breeding officer. SHG can contact dairy officers and apply for running collection center.
Laying stress on making the rural women self –employed through skill development, the CS said that they should be given training for making school dress, sanitary napkin and house-keeping.
She said that the work done by NRLM has been appreciated in New Delhi. Now schemes should be prepared so that NRLM can make use of the modern infrastructure.
She directed the DPM/SPM/ PO through video conferencing and asked for suggestions also. It was decided that canteen will be established in all the blocks and run by SHG.
The CS directed NRLM regarding use of social platform and fixing the target. She said that youths can be trained as masons for making houses under Indira Aawas Yojana.
Principal Secretary, RDD N. N. Sinha, Agriculture Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni, NRLM CEO Paritosh Upadhayay, NRLM State Program Coordinator Vinay Kr. Pandey and Pravin Singh of NRLM were present in the meeting.
