Jamshedpur : The state-owned MGM Medical College in Dimna will be shortly equipped with a cath lab, to cater the need of the heart patients residing in the steel city and also in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan as well as West Singhbhum district.
At a cost of Rs 10 crores the lab will come up on the MGM Medical College premises in Dimna and the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of June next year.
Principal, MGM Medical College AN Mishra said that once the cath lab is set up, the people will be able to get their heart problems checked up and can get necessary treatment.
“ It is our ambitious project and we are looking forward to make it successful. An infrastructure for accommodating the cath lab is coming up on the medical college premises.
It is located near the gate of the medical college. Once the cath lab is set up and experienced cardiologists are appointed the facility will come as a great relief to the people of this region,” said Mishra.
The principal stated that once the cath lab is set up, the heart patients can get angiography and angioplasty done beside getting other clinical check up.
It may be mentioned that TMH boats of having the lab. Cyrus P Mistry, chairman, Tata Sons, had inaugurated the Cardiac Lab on his visit to Jamshedpur on March 3.
The Cath lab is a collaboration of Hyderabad-based Healthcare Service Provider India Pvt. Ltd and Tata Steel, and aims to provide enhanced cardiac care to the residents of the Steel City and its peripheral regions.
As part of this agreement, a team of cardiac specialists are present at the Cath Lab round the clock to monitor all heart-related cases that come in.
“State-of-the-art cardiac care will be one of the latest additions to MGM. It is our endeavour to provide the best of healthcare services to the people of Jamshedpur and its neighbouring areas. With this facility, we hope to make a difference in the lives of many” noted an official.
