MGM Jamshedpur: Doctors kept on alert for festivals

Jamshedpur, March 6: East Singhbhum district health department has kept all hospitals and health centres on high alert in view of Holi and Shab-e-Baraat. Additional doctors have been deputed in the emergency ward of MGM Hospital and Sadar Hospital, Khasmahal. The hospital authorities have been asked to ensure availability of all emergency medicines. Additional health workers have been pressed into service, sources said.

District Civil Surgeon Dr Jujhar Manjhi said doctors and paramedical staff would be available in the emergency ward of the hospitals round the clock.

Dr Ravindra Kumar, Superintendent of MGMCH, said all necessary amenities have been provided to the emergency ward. Beds will be made available in the emergency ward and the ambulance drivers would also be available, he said. Meanwhile, peace committee meetings were convened at the various police stations across the city including Bistupur and Sitaramdera police stations. People were asked to not give bikes to their minor kids during festivals. Action would be taken against hooligans, police said.
