Jamshedpur: The summer heat is set to intensify as the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Ranchi Meteorological Centre has predicted a significant rise in temperatures across Jharkhand over the next five days. With clear skies and dry weather ahead, residents should brace for a spell of intense heat.
According to meteorological statistics, temperatures in Seraikela have already reached close to the 40-degree Celsius mark. The district has been recording a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius for the past two days, making it one of the hottest places in the state. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, and Bokaro are also experiencing rising heat, with daytime temperatures touching 35 degrees Celsius. Chaibasa, located in the adjoining West Singhbhum district, recorded a maximum temperature of around 36 degrees Celsius today.
Weathermen have ruled out any possibility of rainfall or thundershowers in the coming days, stating that no significant synoptic condition is currently prevailing over Jharkhand. The forecast suggests mainly clear skies and dry weather for at least the next 72 hours. This means that the heat will continue to build, making conditions challenging for residents, particularly those engaged in outdoor activities.
With the summer season approaching in full swing, experts advise people to take necessary precautions, including staying hydrated, avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours, and wearing light, breathable clothing. The rising mercury levels could also impact daily life, increasing the demand for electricity as cooling appliances are used more frequently.
