Ranchi, Aug. 5: Children are the future and foundation of the nation. The state will prosper only when the base is strong. By developing the mental ability of children, we can develop their future.

The government is laying emphasis on the mental development of children in the aanganbari centres apart from bringing up and teaching them. In Montessori schools, mental unfolding of every child is considered and methods are used to make them learn. This was observed here on Saturday by Chief Minister Raghubar Das while addressing teachers and parents on his visit to Montessori Learning School at the Morhabadi.

The CM said a school is a culture point. “From the very childhood, a child should be cultured in such a way that he works for the people and nation when he grows up. Though doing good work is not so easy but if one is determined, he is helped by the Almighty. The initial troubles prove to be temporary and one should not be dissuaded with it. People should go even in the villages and slums and teach the children,” he said.

The CM established Kishor Sangh in Jamshedpur. A book bank was established for the children and any student could take books from the book bank. A little flower school and drawing school are being run through Kishor Sangh.

The CM announced a grant of Rs 1 lakh for the library of the Montessori School from his discretionary grant funds. He said that children of other schools can also avail the library facility from the Montessori School.

The Montessori School principal Nikita Sinha said the mental development process in children starts from pre-nursery to 7th standard. Hence children should be taught the art of learning before imparting basic teaching. The drawback of children’ learning is sorted out in the school so that they can equate with others.
