Menstrual Hygiene Awareness workshop held

Jamshedpur, July 3: Social organisation ‘Nischay aur Smile Jharkhand’ organised a workshop on Menstrual Hygiene Awareness in Gobarghusi panchayat under Patamda block of East Singhbhum district on Monday. At the workshop girls and women were informed about the use of sanitary napkins and its health benefits. Members of the organisation also distributed awareness pamphlets and sanitary napkins. At the workshop Tarun Kumar, Sujit Kumar and Vinod Pandit donated sanitary napkins.

Founder of organisation Poonam Mahanand made the girls aware about the use of sanitary napkins. Focusing on providing education to the girls, Poonam said that in today’s world education is necessary as it is a tool which can help girls overcome all hurdles. Women can play a vital role in bringing change in the villages and the growing girls should keep an eye on their health and hygiene.

Present during the workshop Deepa Paul, a class 12 student of SDSM School said that schools should provide sanitary napkins to girl students at the time of need.

Total of 85 girls and women participated in the workshop were Khagendra Nath Singh, Jharna Mallick, Vandana Sahis, Anita Kumari and others were present.
