Menka inaugurates high school

Jamshedpur: Potka MLA Menka Sardar inaugurated Durku High School in Potka on Thursday.

Addressing a gathering during the inaugural function, the MLA said the new building would help the teachers carry on academic activities in a proper manner. She said despite getting a new building, the school management still needed teachers. She said even after up-gradation from middle school to high school in 2012, Durku High School was suffering from a shortage of teaching staff.

The school headmaster Sunil Kumar Yadav said there were a total of 179 students in the high school. He said despite the manpower shortage, the school pupils have performed well in the various exams. He said the new high school block of the school is half a kilometre away from the middle school. In such a situation, getting good results is not so easy, he said.

The MLA said she would take up the teaching staff shortage issue with the authorities concerned and make sure that teachers are appointed in the school very soon.

Among those present at the inaugural function included Shivcharan Gope, Om Sharma, Shashi Bhushan Singh, Madhvi Sharma, Sanjay Sahu, Uttam Bhakta, Chandrashekhar Gupta, Sanjeev Bhakta, Haldhar Das, Girish Bhakta and Ajit Mahakud.
