CS reviews work of Home, Jail

Ranchi, July 6: Reviewing the Home, Jail and Disaster Management and Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma today said that the children of age 5 year and above of imprisoned or convicted people must be enrolled and sent to school.

Profiling of children passing their time in jail with their imprisoned mother should be done and they should be sent to residential and other schools, she said.

Verma said that video conferencing of all the hard core naxalites and criminals should be done while they are brought for trial. Before complete digitalization of the court, the criminals should be tried through VC.

She directed the jail officials concerned to install VC facilities in all the 24 jails of the state. She said that convicted criminals in different jails should be shifted to central jails. Mobile detector instrument should be bought for jails, she said.

The CS said that all payments of home guard personnel should be done through DBT and duties should be allotted to all. She said that two women home guards should be deputed in Kasturba Gandhi schools. The home guards’ data should be made online and work should be allotted through software.

She directed the officials concerned to speed up police line construction in Dumka, Palamu, Chaibasa and Saraikela Kharsawan. She said that the process of PMC must be completed at the earliest and DPR should be made. Different sports facilities should be available in police line.

The department officials said that out of 18,000 home guards, Aadhar numbers of 17,563 have been collected and seeding work completed.

Home guard band training is being done and proposal for creating additional band has been sent to dept.

All personnel of home guard are being insured under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Beema Yojana.
