Jamshedpur, May 7: The Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan, who is also the Executive Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, has appealed in a message to the voluntary organizations, NGOs and people of the country to donate blood so that there is ample stock of blood available in the blood banks to meet any eventuality.
As the World Red Cross Day falls on 8th May, the East Singhbhum branch of Indian Red Cross Society, like yesteryears is organizing a mega blood donation camp on 8th May from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm at the Jamshedpur Blood Bank. The Red Cross Society is appealing to all its regular donors and organizations to come forward in large numbers to donate blood. Owing to the lockdown promulgated by the Government on account of COVID19 the number of people donating has come down drastically and hence it is imperative for organizations such as us to hold blood donation camps regularly to arrange for blood donation at a larger scale. Citizens of Jamshedpur have always come forward to extend a helping hand for social causes and we hope through this blood donation camp we will be able to help provide adequate units blood to the Jamshedpur Blood Bank.
