Seraikela, May 29: A review meeting was convened at the Swarnrekha Bhawan Auditorium in Adityapur, chaired by Champai Soren, the Tribal Welfare cum Transport Minister of the Government of Jharkhand. The meeting focused on evaluating the progress of schemes implemented under the Municipal Corporation Adityapur, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, and Electricity Department.
Attending the meeting were DC Arva Rajkamal, DDC Praveen Kumar Gagrai, Additional Municipal Commissioner Girja Shankar Prasad, ADC Subodh Kumar, SDO Seraikela Ram Krishna Kumar, Minister’s Secretary Chanchal Goswami, as well as other officials from the concerned departments and working agencies.
Minister Champai Soren reviewed various departments and provided necessary guidelines during the meeting. For the Adityapur Municipal Corporation, the Minister addressed issues related to drinking water and electricity supply in the area, emphasizing the importance of providing convenient and uninterrupted services to the people. He instructed the concerned divisional officer to promptly complete pending work on drinking water pipelines and service road restaurants.
In the review of the Electricity Department, Minister Champai Soren discussed the provision of 100 units of free electricity for about 80,000 beneficiaries among the total of 98,000 electricity connections in rural areas of the district. He stressed the importance of raising awareness about this scheme, as well as the interest waiver scheme and various means of electricity bill payment in rural areas. The Minister expressed concerns over high electricity bills causing anxiety among poor families who do not use major electrical appliances, urging officials to find solutions.
Minister Champai Soren called for initiatives to address electricity-related issues through various channels. He instructed regional officers to address problems in rural areas and work in the interest of the people, aligning their efforts with the expectations of the public. Additionally, the Minister reviewed the schemes operated under the Drinking Water and Sanitation Division, directing officials to ensure that every household is connected to the water tap scheme as soon as possible.
During the meeting, Minister Champai Soren highlighted power cuts in Jaikan Panchayat and Rajnagar village, as well as issues related to drinking water in various wards of the Adityapur Municipal Corporation area. He instructed the concerned departmental officers to take prompt action in resolving these matters. The Minister emphasized the significance of rural development and the upliftment of marginalized families, aiming to connect them to the mainstream. Minister Champai Soren urged regional officers from the Electricity and Drinking Water Sanitation Divisions to respond to villagers’ calls promptly, enabling efficient problem-solving. The collective efforts of the departments were intended to fulfill the government’s objectives and meet the expectations of the people.
