Meera Munda is richer then former Union Minister Arjun Munda: Affidavit

Jamshedpur: In a surprising revelation, Dr. Meera Munda, BJP’s candidate from Potka, has emerged wealthier than her husband, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda. With assets totaling Rs 14.90 crore, Meera outshines her husband’s declared wealth, holding a staggering Rs 9.01 crore in movable assets alone, compared to Arjun’s Rs 1.99 crore. This twist in fortunes showcases Meera as not only a formidable political force but also as the more affluent partner in Jharkhand’s prominent political duo.

Meera Munda, the BJP candidate from the Potka Assembly seat, has declared assets worth Rs 14.90 crore, including Rs 9.01 crore in movable and Rs 3.05 crore in immovable assets. According to her 2024 affidavit, Meera Munda has Rs 48,884 in cash and owns a Toyota car worth Rs 33.91 lakh. Her husband, former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, has Rs 1,32,891 in cash. Meera Munda’s bank account holds Rs 1.87 crore, while Arjun Munda has Rs 1.43 crore. Arjun also owns a Maruti Zen valued at Rs 2.35 lakh.

In terms of bonds and shares, Meera Munda has invested Rs 6.02 crore, while Arjun Munda has invested Rs 17 lakh. Meera possesses gold jewelry worth Rs 13.89 lakh, and Arjun owns gold worth Rs 1.10 lakh. Both have taken loans: Meera from a bank amounting to Rs 10.50 lakh, and Arjun has a loan of Rs 4.80 lakh. Meera Munda, a PhD holder, has no criminal cases against her. She also owns a Toyota Fortuner worth Rs 29 lakh and another Toyota car valued at Rs 33.91 lakh.

Arjun Munda owns a 2003 model Maruti Zen, valued at Rs 2.35 lakh. Meera Munda has declared the value of her residential property to be Rs 3.05 crore, while Arjun Munda has estimated his residential building at Rs 85 lakh. According to the affidavit, Meera Munda, the BJP candidate from Potka, is wealthier than her husband and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda.
