Medical Student Arrested with 27 Packets of Brown Sugar

Chakradharpur: In a notable incident on Monday, local police apprehended a 21-year-old medical student with 27 packets of brown sugar near the sub-divisional hospital in Chakradharpur. Acting on secret information, Chakradharpur police station in-charge Chandrashekhar Kumar promptly reached the location and detained the young man, identified as Abhi Kumar, near Gelan Bhatti.

The police recovered 27 bags of brown sugar from Abhi Kumar, who was found in an intoxicated state. In the presence of Circle Officer Girjanand Kisku, necessary paperwork was carried out, and both the brown sugar and the young man’s mobile phone were confiscated. Abhi Kumar was subsequently taken to the police station for further proceedings.

Chandrashekhar Kumar, the police station in-charge, stated that the arrest was made based on secret information about the young man possessing a significant quantity of brown sugar. The youth, a first-year student at KIMS Medical College in Bhubaneswar, is currently under interrogation, and additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses.

The arrested student’s mother mentioned that her son had returned home for the New Year holiday and likely indulged in brown sugar, possibly obtained from another source. Notably, the youth’s father, Abhyas Kumar, operates a children’s clinic in front of the sub-divisional hospital.
