Jamshedpur, March 2: T V Narendran, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Steel inaugurated the i-MEC (Integrated Maintenance Excellence Centre) and i-CPROC (Integrated Coke Plant Remote Operations Centre) at Tata Steel Jamshedpur Works on the eve of 185th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata on Saturday.
Both the centres are a testament to Tata Steel’s commitment towards digitalisation with improvement in IT infrastructure for the establishment of an integrated command centre for better monitoring and surveillance.
The Integrated Maintenance Excellence Centre (iMEC) is TSL`s innovation hub, offering real-time, advanced maintenance advice to shop floors.
It centralizes maintenance for assets across all TSL locations and aims to standardize practices across all group companies.
It’s set to be a model for integrating AI-driven maintenance strategies, reducing downtimes within the group.
