Jamshedpur: Mayor of Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC), Sudha Gupta, and her husband, former Minister Banna Gupta conducted a detailed inspection of the Mango Market area today following consistent public complaints. During the visit, the Mayor addressed various infrastructural issues and issued immediate directives to concerned officials.
Local residents and traders highlighted the severe problem of clogged drains, which has led to waterlogging and unhygienic conditions. Expressing her dissatisfaction, the Mayor ordered the cleaning staff to overhaul the drainage system and ensure regular monitoring.
Key Issues Identified
- Electrical Hazards: The inspection team found dilapidated and low-hanging electrical wires across the market. The Mayor directed the Electricity Department to secure these wires immediately to prevent potential accidents.
- Road and Drainage Infrastructure: The Mayor noted the poor condition of main roads connecting the market. She instructed the department to begin high-quality road construction and identified the need for a permanent drainage solution along the main road.
- Inter-Agency Coordination: To resolve long-standing issues, she directed MMC officials to coordinate with JUSCO and the Market Committee (Bazar Samiti).

“Solving public grievances is our top priority. We will not tolerate any negligence. All departments must complete their tasks in a time-bound manner and submit progress reports,” stated Mayor Sudha Gupta.
