MAXI Fair witnesses overwhelming response

Jamshedpur : The 2nd day of the 36th edition of MAXI Fair organized by the Marketing Association at XLRI Jamshedpur (MAXI) saw huge enthusiasm from the residents of Jamshedpur. With a footfall of over 3500 people by just 4.30 PM, the event is already a grand success.

Started over thirty years ago, MAXI’s mandate is simple – popularize the field of Marketing at XLRI. This is achieved through a mixture of competitive events, talks, interaction sessions, conferences and of course, the world-renowned MAXI Fair.

The highlight of the day was the Banega Swachh India campaign held in conjunction with NDTV and Dettol. The campaign aims to set the record for the most number of participants in a handwash relay.

The record, previously created in Sri Lanka by 650 participants, has been shattered by the registration of over 1000 residents of Jamshedpur. The record will be officially confirmed by Guinness World Records after completing the verification procedures, 8 weeks from today.

With 400 handwashes already conducted at the time of writing, the XLRI and MAXI, with all their partners, are now proud contributors to the Banega Swachh Indiacampaign. The amount of zeal shown by the participants to help set this record has been staggering.

Apart from the market research games, MAXI fair also includes recreational activities for youngsters like paintball, zorbing, video games, merry go round, fancy dress competition etc. Among all the fun and frolic attendees purchase exotic handicrafts and devour mouth-watering delicacies at the food stalls.

With a live performance by the poet Kumar Vishwas scheduled in the evening, this year’s MAXI Fair has proudly upheld the tradition of conducting market research in a manner that is both illuminating for the researchers and entertaining for the participants.

XLRI is the country’s premier management institute and has been consistently ranked among the top B-schools, alongside the IIMs. The college is one of the most prefered destinations for those wishing to learn the ropes of management.

The Marketing Association at XLRI was established in 1971 under The Societies Act of India. It is a student committee that annually organizes an annual digital marketing event (Legalize), a number of marketing talks, interactive sessions and events and MAXI Fair.

It also has a place in the Limca Book of Records for its outstanding online presence.
