Jamshedpur, Feb 8: Matri-Pitri Pujan Diwas (Mother-Father Worship Day) was organized by Shri Yoga Vedanta Seva Samiti at Excel India Model School at Murakati in Birsanagar. The students recited their prayers with the chant ‘Matri Devo Bhava, Pitri Devo Bhava.’ The children vowed that they would respect and serve their parents always. The parents blessed the children and wished them success in life as they moved on in life.
School Principal Mamata Kumari narrated the story of Lord Ganesha to illustrate the fact, “Our parents are our world in our lifetime on earth. Their place in our lives is paramount. We should never hurt or disrespect them.” The children and parents present on the occasion turned emotional when they spoke on the occcasion. It may be mentioned that the Excel Model School administration has made it mandatory for students to touch the feet of their parents. The students from Classes Nursery to VIII were present on this occasion along with parents and faculty members.
