Math Olympiad winners awarded at Tata DAV

Jamshedpur, July 24: 27 students of Tata DAV Public School, Nuwamundi who came out with flying colours at the International Math Olympiad exams were honoured today at a special prayer session. The chief guest on the occasion, BDO Nuwamundi Ramesh Prasad Bhandari presented the students with certificates and medallions. He was welcomed by school Principal Tarun Kumar Mishra with a flower bouquet.

Addressing the school students on the occasion, the BDO observed, �Hard work always pays off. Fix your target and work hard towards attaining it and you will surpass all adverse situations and emerge successful. Students who do not consider education a burden surge ahead. Dedication, constant practice and hard work are the essential ingredients for achieving success.�

Principal Tarun Kumar Mishra stated that the Math Olympiad was a competitive exam conducted to arouse interest towards the subject and enhance their spirit of competition.

The eleven gold medalists were Asish Mahto, Vaishnavi, Samya Raj, Sarvaswa Narayan, Siddhant Das, Varsha Kumari, Akanksha Raj, Shreya Paul, Akash Kumar Singh, Sawan Kumar Gupta and Ankur Mahto. The silver medal winners included Adhya Deshpandey, Sankalp Mishra, Rajhans, Abhinav Kashyap, Gaurav Das, Abhishek Das, Karuna Nidhi and Raj Kamal Chowdhary while students who bagged bronze comprised Priyanshu Anand, Satakshi Raj, Saina, Sejal Gupta, Amir Hamza, Sayonika Mukherjee and Ayush Kumar.

Std II student Sayan Ghosh was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5, 000 and Rs 1, 000 in gift vouchers. Olympiad test anchor Uday Kant Chowdhary and faculty were present on the occasion.
