Massive rally marks Hindu New Year in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 28: Hindu New Year was celebrated with fervor across steel city on Tuesday, March 28. Hindu Utsav Samiti and other religious organisations took out a grand motorcycle rally from Dimna Chowk were thousands of residents in more than 1200 motorbikes and around 100 four wheelers participated.

Saffron flags were put across the city to make the celebration more grand.

The rally traversed through Sakchi Ram Leela ground, Bari Maidan before culminating at Aambagan ground. During the procession the traffic at Mango Dimna Road and Mango chowk came to a standstill which led to chaos and the vehicle movement from Mango to Sakchi stopped for a while.

During the rally the youths were seen bursting fire crackers and were seen holding saffron flags and traditional arms.

After the rally reached the Aambagan ground, a foot-long portrait of Bharat Mata was erected where aarti was performed by more than 20 priests from across the city temples. During the Utsav Hindus in large numbers participated.

Organizer of the programme, Sonu Thakur said, this day marks the beginning of Hindu New year and we celebrated the occasion in a grand way.
