Jamshedpur: A Maha-aarti ceremony was organized in the Hanuman temple at Golmuri Chowk under the aegis of Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday on the occasion of Hindu New Year Vikram Samvat 2074.
A total of 108 earthen lamps (diyas) were lit to offer prayers to Lord Hanuman under the leadership of Probir Chatterjee, president of Golmuri unit of BJP. Prayers were held for world peace, prosperity, public welfare and speedy development. Thereafter, laddoos were distributed among the people by the BJP activists.
Among those present on the occasion included district BJP president Dinesh Kumar, Mithilesh Singh Yadav, Jyoti Adhikari, Sapna Dey, Sonia Sahu, Samresh Shukla, Prem Jha, Amish Agrawal and Abhayanand.
