Jamshedpur, Mar 16: A massive fire broke out in the Bagbera vegetable market near Ashirwad Hotel, reducing several shops to ashes. The fire reportedly started when some people discarded cigarette butts on dry leaves, which quickly ignited.

Eyewitnesses stated that the fire brigade was delayed, allowing the flames to spread rapidly. Shopkeepers and local residents attempted to douse the fire, but it had already engulfed around 15 shops, causing losses worth lakhs of rupees.

A shopkeeper lamented, “We tried our best to control the fire, but it spread too fast. Had the fire brigade arrived on time, we could have saved our shops.”

After a long struggle, the fire brigade finally reached the spot and brought the blaze under control. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the damages suffered by the affected vendors.
