Jadugora: A massive crowd turned out in Jadugora and Matigoda on Wednesday evening as former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das led a padayatra in support of BJP candidate Babulal Soren.
The rally, organized under the leadership of BJP election in-charge Suresh Sahu and party leader Gurucharan Rajwar, culminated at Rakha Copper Chowk, where Raghubar Das paid floral tributes at a local memorial.
As Das walked through the markets, shopkeepers and residents came out to greet him, showering their blessings on candidate Babulal Soren.
The streets overflowed with supporters as Das interacted directly with local traders and appealed to the public to vote for the BJP.
Addressing the gathering, Suresh Sahu and Gurucharan Rajwar said that the massive public participation reflected a strong desire for change in Ghatshila.
“Raghubar Das’s padayatra will serve as a people’s warning to the current government through the power of votes,” Sahu remarked.
They further said that during his tenure, Raghubar Das worked for the state’s development, while the BJP-led government at the Centre under Atal Bihari Vajpayee had laid the foundation of Jharkhand’s formation.
They accused the Hemant Soren government of exploiting and looting the state’s mineral wealth for personal gain.
Prominent BJP leaders including Gunjan Yadav, Vibhishan Sardar, U.K. Lal, Manoj Pratap Singh and Rohit Singh were also present in the padayatra, along with a large number of party workers and supporters.
