Jamshedpur, Oct 3: A routine morning walk turned into a frightening ordeal for a football player on Friday when two masked criminals on a motorcycle snatched his gold chain at gunpoint on Kadma Link Road.
The incident, which occurred around 6 a.m., created panic among local residents and prompted a swift police operation.
According to eyewitness accounts, the victim, Ramdev Singh, was out for his regular walk when the assailants suddenly approached him on a bike. Both were wearing masks. One of them pulled out a pistol to threaten Singh, while the other swiftly snatched the gold chain from his neck. The duo then sped away before anyone could react.
Alerted immediately, Kadma police rushed to the spot and launched an extensive search operation, setting up barricades and combing nearby areas. CCTV footage from the vicinity is being closely examined to trace the culprits.
Police officials have expressed confidence that the accused will be arrested soon.
The daring robbery in the early morning hours has left the neighborhood shaken.
Residents voiced growing concern over the rising number of street crimes in the city, while police assured stricter patrolling and swift action to bring the offenders to justice.
