Jamshedpur : Jharkhand Marwari Yuva Manch is organizing its regional meeting consisting of representatives of the 65 branches in Jamshedpur on July 4 and 5.
The meeting is being held at Chamber Bhawan. Mantu Agrawal welcomed the delegates. On the occasion, Chandulal Bhalotia and Govind Dodrajka inaugurated the conference.
They expressed a need to raise awareness about the skewed male-female ratio, hoping to make a small difference to the nationwide campaign against the evil of female foeticide.
‘We must not hold modern medical invention responsible for female foeticide. Rather, we should take steps to change the mindset of women who are unwilling to give birth to a female child after undergoing sex determination tests,’ said a member.
They said the only way to exterminate this social evil was to persuade women to come forward and lead a mass awareness campaign.
It may be mentioned that Marwari Yuva Manch, a city-based social and cultural organisation, is dedicated towards women empowerment. It regularly undertakes series of programme for the welfare of the society.
