Ranchi: The mortal remains of Lt Colonel Sankalp Kumar, who was killed by terrorists in Kashmir on Friday, were consigned to flames with full military honours in Ranchi on Sunday.

Priya Shukala, wife of the departed Lt. Col. Sanklap along with her two daughters performed the last rites.
Large crowds turned up at several places, showering petals on the body during his last journey.
The funeral procession was accompanied by thousands of people.
Governor Syed Ahmed, Chief Minister HemantSoren, Union MinistersDharmendra Pradhan and JayantSinha, several Army and police officials were among those present at the funeral.
