Jamshedpur : The joint team of West Singhbhum district police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested a hardcore Maoist ultra, wanted in several criminal Tunia Horo under Kunduru gutu school of WestSinghbhum district. The arrested man was the section commander.
Acting on a tip off the team conducted raid and nabbed the dreaded criminal. A pistol and one live cartridges, one cell phone and a Maoist dairy have been recovered from the ultra. Police officials said that the arrested ultras belongs to the Krishna Ahir CPI ( Maoist) squad.
Superintendent of Police N K Singh said on the basis of the leads provided by thearrested naxalite joint team of police and paramilitary forces are raiding at different places in West Singhbhum to nab other Maoists too.
�We cannot reveal much due to security purpose. We are grilling him and are hopeful to come up with more links of the Maoist,� he noted.
The SP said that the police have intensified the efforts for strengthening security arrangements especially on the routes used by Maoists to enter the naxal infested areas.
�We have asked security forces to conduct long-range patrolling in the areas of Chaibasa and Jagannathpur,� said SSP.
The police and paramilitary forces have also beefed up the naxal infested areas ofWest Singhbhum district. Sources informed that the police are frisking commuters in the bordering areas.
At some places common people are also being interrogated by police and paramilitary force on suspicion. Forces have been deployed in strategic locations.
Police said that the security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the Naxlites. � We do not want any untoward incident to place.
On the basis of the leads provided by the arrested person joint team of police and paramilitary forces are raiding at different places,� noted another senior official.
Sources informed that the police have decided to ensure strict vigil and deploy additional security forces in the fringe areas.
