Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan on Saturday appealed to the Mankis and Mundas of the district to give priority to development. He said they should organize gram sabha on a regular basis and prepare development plans. The district administration officials would visit the panchayats and make sure the development projects are taken up and implemented within a time frame, he said.
The DC was speaking to the Mankis, Mundas and village heads of various panchayats during a meeting convened at his office to review development of villages and discuss related issues. He appealed to them to not allow anyone to politicize development and welfare issues.
The participants put forth various local issues related to drinking water crisis, electricity supply, road, school, pond construction, renovation of old ponds, farming, check dams, forest lease, toilet construction, health and employment.
The DC assured to provide a step-by-step solution to all issues related to civic amenities.
Also present on the occasion was the SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Chandan Kumar Sinha. He asked all the participants to cooperate with police to keep peace in the rural areas. He asked the panchayat and village heads to discourage �Pathalgadi� tradition in the district.
