Jamshedpur, June 14: In a recent development, Manish Kumar has been appointed as the new Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Jamshedpur. The Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language has issued a notification regarding the posting of Manish Kumar, a 2018 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Prior to this appointment, Kumar held the position of Joint Secretary in the Energy Department of Ranchi, Jharkhand. He has been instructed to assume his new role with immediate effect. In addition to his responsibilities as the DDC, Manish Kumar has also been assigned the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zila Parishad. The vacancy in this post had caused disruption in the functioning of the Zila Parishad for an extended period. Moreover, the workload of the DDC was being handled by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jamshedpur, leading to various challenges. Manish Kumar has previously served as the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Koderma and is known for his sociable personality and notable contributions to development work in the region.
