Jamshedpur: Manipal Tata Medical College inaugurated the Unit of National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) within its campus on Friday. The ceremony marked a pivotal moment in the institution’s commitment to fostering character, leadership, and community service among its students.

National Cadet Corps (NCC), established in 1948 under the National Cadet Corps Act, is dedicated to instilling qualities such as discipline, leadership, and a spirit of adventure among the youth of India. With various wings including the Army, Navy, and Air Force, NCC plays an integral role in shaping responsible citizens.

National Service Scheme (NSS), launched in 1969, aims to cultivate the values of social welfare and community service among students. Through initiatives focused on nation-building and community development, NSS volunteers contribute actively to societal welfare.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Col. Vinay Ahuja and Guest of Honor Lt. Col. G.K. Mishra, who illuminated the occasion by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Neelam Goyal, Associate NCC Officer, Dr. Sachin Kumar Patil, NSS Programme Officer, and NSS student volunteers orchestrated the event with meticulous planning, while administrative members of the college lent their support to ensure its success.
