Manipal Tata Medical College Jamshedpur hosts workshop on Methodological Approach

Jamshedpur: A workshop on Methodological Approach to Evidence Generation-MAEG is being organised   at Manipal Tata Medical College, a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education- An Institution of Eminence from 31 March  to harness the research skill of the faculty and Consultants of Manipal Tata Medical College, Tata Main Hospital and Allied Health Sciences, MTMC  supported by Pfizer India Ltd.

Prof (Dr) B.Unnikrishnan, Dean , Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, MAHE graced the occasion   as Chief Guest  and Dr.Komal Gaur, Medical lead , RWE, Pfizer  India Ltd.  was the Guest of Honour.

 The inaugural function was presided by Dr. Sunita Tripathy, Dean In-charge, MTMC and Dr.Rajiva Dwivedi , Director(Academics Administration and Quality ) who also felicitated the guests.

Dr.Abhilasha Priya, Member , Research Cell gave the welcome address followed by Dean address on importance of research. 

 Dr.Ashim Mishra, head, Research cell and Organizing Secretary introduced  Dr.Unnikrishnan as an expert in Evidence Synthesis and Collaborator for Global Burden of Disease, University of Washington and Advisory board member of Public Health Evidence South Asia. Dr. Unnikrishnan has featured in Stanford University’s world 2% scientist for his contribution in Public Health. He has collaborated with Pfizer for setting up a Centre of Excellence in Real world Evidence.

More than ninety five participants from Tata Main Hospital , AHS and  Manipal Tata Medical College participated in this workshop along with Dr.Vijay Kautilya, Associate Dean, Mr. Yasawant P, Head, AHS and all Heads of departments, Mr.Debasis Sinha, Head HR, Mr.Kshitij Mohan,  Administrative officer

Other resource persons from MAHE Dr.Prasanna Mithra P, Dr.Ramesh Holla, Dr.Vasudeva Guddattu  will conduct interactive sessions with the faculty on  various aspects of Research methodology, study designs and Real world Evidence.  . The vote of thanks during inaugural ceremony was given by Dr.Bina Pani Gupta , Member of Research Cell, MTMC.
