Jamshedpur, Sept 11 : The Mango Municipal Corporation under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), has successfully completed the construction of 852 out of 865 sanctioned houses.
However, with 13 units still incomplete, the civic body has issued a final ultimatum to the beneficiaries, directing them to finish construction within 15 days.
The notice, issued under the instructions of deputy municipal commissioner Krishna Kumar, clearly warns that beneficiaries failing to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe will not receive the remaining installment of funds post-December.
Moreover, recovery proceedings may be initiated for the amount already disbursed, alongside potential legal action—placing the entire accountability on the beneficiaries.
Officials emphasized that the move is aimed at ensuring timely completion of the housing scheme so that its benefits reach all eligible citizens.
Despite repeated appeals, some beneficiaries have shown negligence in carrying out construction, thereby delaying the full execution of the scheme.
To expedite progress, PMAY nodal officer and municipal manager Dineshwar Yadav has been personally engaging with the beneficiaries, visiting their homes to motivate and sensitize them about the importance of early completion.
He reiterated the corporation’s commitment to ensuring that all 865 houses are handed over to the needy at the earliest, thereby fulfilling the vision of providing affordable housing to the underprivileged.
Authorities hope that this decisive step will accelerate the pending construction and enable all beneficiaries to realize their long-cherished dream of owning a home
