Jamshedpur, Jan 10: In keeping with the directives of the Executive Officer, Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC), an anti-encroachment drive was conducted in its command area in the course of which Rs 10,000 was collected as penalty from people disregarding cautionary orders. Those penalized included shopkeepers who encroached pavements along the main thoroughfare by keeping their goods thereby causing traffic problems and congestions. Many construction materials were also found stacked alongside the roads. Many other shopkeepers were warned and directed to keep their stocks within their shop premises. The anti-encroachment drive was carried out by MMC City Manager Dineshwar Yadav, Rahul Kumar and other staff members.
