Mango gears up to tackle water woes in summers

Jamshedpur, March 13: Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) is pulling its socks to deal with the drinking water crisis in the summer season. MMC executive officer Deepak Sahay convened a meeting to review the current situation and chalk out plans to provide relief to people.

Sahay directed the officials concerned to ensure repair of all hand-pumps lying defunct in different localities of Mango municipal area. He set a deadline of one week for the job. He said prior arrangements should be made to supply adequate drinking water to the people of various localities. Tankers should be used to supply water, he said.

Sahay said city manager Jitendra Kumar had been deputed as the nodal officer for water supply through tankers. A fixed amount will be payable to avail the service, he said.

The MMC executive officer further said that measures were being taken to provide uninterrupted water supply through pipeline. Applications related to water connections should not be kept pending, he said.
