Jamshedpur, July 29: A huge procession commencing from the old Shiv Mandir at Daiguttu was taken out by women who after collecting water from the Swarnrekha River in metal pots, traversed various routes of the area chanting odes to Lord Shiva before returning to the Shiv Mandir and performing the rituals of Jal Abhishek of the Lord. This ritual was performed on the second Monday of Sawan the day being most auspicious for paying obeisance to Lord Shiva.
The programme was organized by the Mango Congress unit which was also attended by the party�s state president Dr Ajoy Kumar and Youth Congress state secretary Rakesh Sahu. The programme was organized under the supervision of Congress Mango unit president Baldev Singh. The other members of the organizing team included Mallu Singh, Brijendra Tiwary, Sanjay Azad, Bumbum Prasad, Mohan Singh, Subodh Paul, Ravi Shankar KP and others including women devotees in large numbers.
