Seraikela, June 22: Unidentified criminals shot at a man near Chadri Dungri on the Seraikela-Kandra main road under Seraikela police station area on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Kaleem Khan, resident of Adityapur Muslim Basti, was taken to Tata Main Hospital where his condition was reportedly serious.

Sources said the victim was returning from the Seraikela Civil Court in the afternoon when the armed assailants waiting for him near Chadri Dungri opened fire at him.

Kaleem fell from his bike after sustaining a bullet wound in his shoulder and started running. District Bar Association vice president Om Prakash and his colleague Ambika Charan Pani informed police about the incident.

Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Seraikela Harvinder Singh and the officer in-charge of Seraikela reached the crime scene and began investigation into the incident.
