Man gets 20-year jail for raping minor in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 3: The POCSO court of Additional District Judge (V) Sanjay Kumar Upadhyaya sentenced one Rahul Kumar Shukla to 20 years imprisonment for raping a minor in Sidhgora. It also slapped a fine of Rs 40,000 on the convict.

The court acquitted two other accused, Tikki Sona and Ajay Singh, in the absence of evidence in this case. A total of eight witnesses were examined in this case. Shukla was convicted on 26^th February last.

The case dates back to 11^th June 2018 when the accused persons had alleged kidnapped the minor girl and taken her to an abandoned building in Zone No 3 of Birsanagar. The three gang-raped the girl and later left her at her house.
