Jamshedpur, March 17: One Suruchi Kumari was injured after being allegedly assaulted by her husband in Rajendranagar locality of Sakchi on Thursday. She sustained head injuries after her husband hit her with some heavy object, sources said.
According to Suruchi Kumari, her husband Dharma Prasad had beaten her up near TB Hospital, Sakchi, on Wednesday last and had also tried to burn her by pouring kerosene on her late night. Police had detained Prasad on getting information from his wife, but released him the next day. Shortly after his release, Prasad hit his wife on head after a tiff.
Suruchi accused police officials of taking the matter lightly and ignoring her complaint. She said her husband often beat and tortured her after drinking.
