Jamshedpur, Sept. 26: Police arrested a man, identified as Ashok alias Alok Saha, near the bus stand at Sakchi for allegedly trying to rob cash from a Purulia resident.
Cops said the accused tried to con Rajeev Kumar Mahato, the Purulia resident, by luring him with a fake bundle of notes.
The accused placed a Rs 100 note on a bundle of folded newspapers to make it look like a real bundle of notes.
He then threw the fake bundle down on the floor on the premises of the bus stand where Mahato was waiting to take a bus for Purulia.
The accused tried to rob Rs 26,000 being carried by Mahato who was returning from Maharashtra after taking leave from his job.
Cops said they were searching for two more accused who assisted Ashok in plan to trick Mahato.
