Man arrested for seeking extortion in the name of Naxal

Gamharia : A man accused seeking extortion from two officers of Usha Martin and demanding Rs 20 lakh has been arrested.

The police have arrested the man. In this regard a press conference was organised at Gamharia police station. SP Indrajit Mahtha said on 7 January two senior officials received call from the mobile number 9835446081 in the name of Maoist Area Commander Kundan Pahan and demanded Rs 20 lakh.

Tarun Kumar Dubey, head of security in respect of the company reported the police and a case was registered. In order to research the case on technical grounds SP and SDPO Indrajit Mahtha and KV Raman, formed a team under the direction of the Gamharia SHO Adikant Mahato, Kumari Mamata Kandra SHO, SHO Rawatu Honhaga.

The culprit was nabbed. The police have recovered a mobile phone and SIM card.
