Malikana Haq Sangharsh Samiti Demands Tata Lease Renewal Proposal be made Public

Jamshedpur: Members of the Malikana Haq Sangharsh Samiti on Monday submitted a memorandum to East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan, urging the district administration to make the Tata lease renewal proposal public to ensure transparency and encourage public participation.

The committee members said public disclosure of the proposal would enable residents to examine its provisions in detail and submit suggestions or objections after reviewing the draft.

Responding to the delegation, Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan said authorities have received only a draft proposal so far. He added that the administration would consider making the document public once it receives the complete and final proposal, provided the applicable rules permit public disclosure.

He also assured the delegation that committee members could meet district officials at any time after the submission of the final draft to obtain updates on the status and progress of the matter.

The delegation included social activists Jawaharlal Sharma, Arun Kumar Singh, Yogesh Kumar Sharma, Avtar Singh, and Ajay Ashish.
