Make in India initiative failed in Jamshedpur claims Brinda Karat

Jamshedpur, Sept. 11: Following release of RJD strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin from jail, CPI(M) Politburo member Brinda Karat on Sunday said that the BJP has no right to speak on his release as the party in Jharkhand has failed to provide justice into the March 18 killing of two persons in Latehar district.

Karat said that the accused of killing 32-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy has been released within six months.

The party ( BJP) has no moral right to question release of Shahabuddin as the main accused into the killings at Latehar district was granted bail within six months. The RJD leader has been in jail from past 11 years while the BJP managed bail for the accused within six months, said Karat, while addressing a press conference at partys office in Golmuri.

She said that though she met Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and demanded a probe by a central agency into the March 18 killing of two persons in Latehar district but the Government has failed to provide justice to the family of the victims.

It may be mentioned that the Patna High Court on September 7 granted bail to former Siwan MP Shahbuddin in the murder case of two brothers of whom the elder one, Rajiv Roshan, was a witness in the killing of two brothers in 2004 in Siwan.

Answering queries from the media, Karat also claimed that Make in India initiative of Modi Government has failed miserably in Jamshedpur as companies are closing down their shutters leaving thousands of workers jobless.

Citing example of closure of Tayo at Adityapur Industrial Area, she said that several workers are now jobless and the Government has failed to take steps to boost the economy.

The senior leader said that the plight of workers is a matter of great concern and steps need to be taken to improve their living conditions.

Despite repeated assurances the workers have been deprived of minimum wages as per the guidelines of Government. There is no value of Make in India where production is done by the temporary workers alone but still their future is insecure since they too have been denied with welfare schemes by the companies, stated Karat.

She also claimed that the Union Government is working on divisive plans to make education centres in the country as wing of RSS. But the students are with the left. This is the reason they won the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) elections.
