Jamshedpur : A 22-year-old student of Jamshedpur Women’s College has gone missing from Saturday evening. She was on her way to Birsanagar home from the Bistupur-based college.
The girl, Indrani Maity, is a first year student of English (Honours) at the Jamshedpur Women’s College. She responded to her mother’s call at 4.10 pm and had said that she would return home by late in the evening after finishing her tuition classes, but has gone missing since then.
The worried parents have lodged a missing report with the Birsa Nagar thana around midnight. She is younger daughter of SN Maity, a retired government school teacher.Indrani would also take tuitions for III and IV class students at a house in Telco colony after finishing her classes in the Jamshedpur Women’s college.
Sub-inspector, Suphal Sahsi of Birsa Nagar police station confirmed about the missing report lodged around midnight.
“Yes we have received the missing report, but are yet to spread the girl’s details through the wireless message. We will follow the necessary step after 4.10 pm as according to the missing report, she had talked to her mother at that time yesterday,” said Sahsi.
The sub-inspector of the Birsa Nagar Thana said they have asked the girl’s parents to search for around themselves.
Another police officer suspected some foul play. “ Though we are investigating the case but we think there must be some foul play. We need to grill some of her friends before reaching to a conclusion,” he noted.
Before lodging the missing report, Indrani’s elder sister Shrabani had made all queries by contacting her sister’s classmates and also at the place where she would teach the school students.
” We have contacted some of her friends. They informed that she came to the college and attended classes. Indrani had gone to the college, but she did not go to her tutorial class at Telco where she would go in the evening. She had talked to my mother at 4.10 pm and was she was talking in absolutely normal way. We just cannot understand where did she disappear,” Shrabani said.
Shrabani said when her sister talked to her mother at 4.10 pm on yesterday, she had said that she was in Tinplate which is in Golmuri. She said her sister is a sincere girl and has no very close friend as such.
One her classmates on the condition of anonymity said Indrani had come to the college yesterday and they both had gone to Sakchi bus-stand.“ We were together and discussed several things. She was normal and wanted to go for her classes. After that I am not aware. Even I am surprised to know about her missing.”
