Major success against narcotics, 312 pouches of brown sugar seized, five nabbed in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 14: City police tasted major success in their drive against sale of narcotics arresting five persons including three women and seized 312 pouches of brown sugar from Mango and Jugsalai. 


Mango police caught two youths with 22 pouches of brown sugar from their bike and recovered two mobiles. The arrested youths include, Saif Khan, a resident of Azadnagar and Mohammed Sarif Akram, a resident of Zakirnagar. 

The Mango police had got a tip-off and when the patrolling team reached Iqra Colony they saw two youths on a bike trying to flee and they chased and caught them and recovered 10 pouches from Sarif Akram and 12 from Saif Khan and lodged a case under NDPS Act. 


Police are trying to find out who sold them narcotics and catch the kingpin of the racket. 

Incidentally, Sitaramdera police had seized 27 packets of brown sugar and arrested Rakesh Kohli of Bagan Area, Sonu Sachdev also of Bagan Area, Suraj Kaiborto of Indranagar, Shadab Shamim of Mango Old Purulia Road and Ashish Mandal while another woman Bharati and Ajay Yadav managed to flee from the spot. Brown sugars are being sold clandestinely in Mango, Sitaramdera, Jugsalai and Sidhgora area. 
Meanwhile, police has managed to arrest Bharati Kaiborto, Urmila Bhuiyan (both from Sitaramdera) and Adityapur Muslim Basti residet Rashida Khatoon and seized 290 pouches of brown sugar from their possession. Bharati and Urmila had gone from Sitaramdera to take supply of brown sugar in Jugsalai when police acting on tip-off nabbed all of them.


Bharti had earlier been to jail for selling brown sugar.
