26 Maoists have surrendered in the last three years
Jamshedpur: In a major breakthrough in anti-Maoist operations, ten active members of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) on Thursday surrendered before senior police and CRPF officials in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum. The surrender, carried out under the Jharkhand government’s ongoing surrender and rehabilitation policy, marks another significant success in weakening extremist activities in Kolhan and Saranda.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Anurag Gupta, the Director General of Police, Jharkhand along with other officials. The police said the development will deliver a heavy blow to Maoist networks in the region.

According to police records, joint forces comprising Jharkhand Police, CRPF, Cobra, and Jharkhand Jaguar have conducted 9,631 operations since 2022. These have led to the arrest of 175 Maoists and elimination of 10 in encounters. Large quantities of explosives, firearms, and other materials used by extremists have also been seized.
