Jamshedpur, Jan 18: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has written to the Special Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) to demand proper upkeep of streets, drains, high-mast lights, hand-pumps and other pubilc utilities.
In the letter, the MLA said the roads, drains, street lights and hand-pumps were not being maintained properly by the MNAC. “Every year, new constructions are taking place, but the old ones are not being maintained properly. The condition of public utilities is below satisfaction level,” said Roy.
The MLA said public money is wasted in the reconstruction of roads, drains and other utilities meant for public use. “I suggest the MNAC should make plans for maintenance after completion of development projects. Additional funds should be demanded from the Urban Development Department,” said the MLA.
