Jamshedpur: The Tinplate Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee is all set for 86th year of the celebration at The Evening Club Premises in Tinplate.
The 2017 celebration was based on Ramayana. As a sequel of epic series, the theme for the 86th year of Sharod celebration will be �Mahabharata�. The Mandap will depict the Hastinapur Raj Sabha. The capital of Kuru Kingdom -Hastinapur falls in the Meerut city of UP.
The inside displays will depict various known � lesser known events of Mahabharata. The inauguration function of our Puja is unique in Jamshedpur and it is made on the backdrop of the theme. This year�s inauguration theme will be on the Mahabharata through a combination of songs, dance, documentary and oration. Our committee always tries to involve all sections of society in this journey.
The ladies committee ‘Saheli’ takes a lead role in the celebration. Inmates of �Astha� old age home are also invited during the celebration, said the organisers.
Our puja is a traditional puja and emphasis is on upholding the traditions. Various traditional competitions like Deep Prajyolan, Sankh Badan, Dhunichi Nritya will be organized. The evening arati is unique where apart from other substances different type of �Astra � Sastra� is used. On the Maha Astami Pushpanjali, many dignitaries of the city take part.
The Sandhi Puja is witnessed by a large crowd and is well known for its punctuality, cleanliness, tradition and spirituality. On the Navami day Maha Prasdam comprising of 108 types of Bhog is offered to mother. Dashami�s Sindur Baran sees ladies of the locality taking active part.
The evening cultural programme will be celebrated including Chaou Dance on Astami evening.
