Jamshedpur, March 8: State Health Minister Banna Gupta participated in the grand Maha Aarti organized at Sonari Domuhani on the occasion of Maha Shivratri on Friday, March 8. Thousands of people gathered at the venue to participate in the celebration.

The Minister performed Swarnarekha Aarti in the presence of 21 priests and sadhus from Varanasi amidst Vedic chants. Chants of Om Namah Shivay could be heard throughout the programme.

The event includes a spectacular display of fireworks and a laser show.
Among the highlights was a towering 28-foot tall idol of Lord Shiva.

Attractive electrical light decorations portraying various forms of Lord Shiva were also arranged.

Elaborate arrangements were made for the event. Security arrangements were made to control the crowd at various places.

The annual ritual aims to purify the river banks as symbols of faith and purity.
