Jamshedpur, July 19: The Madrasi Sammelani on L Road in Bistupur organized its annual Diya (sacred lamp) Puja on Friday. Held every year during the month of Aadi (Ashad), this Puja is conducted to invoke prosperity, health, and happiness.
Women members of the Madrasi Sammelani participated in the Puja, which included the recitation of Sri Lalita Sahasranama Archana, Sri Lakshmi Ashtotara Archana, Sri Durga Ashtotara Archana, and Sri Rama Ashtotara Archana. All devotees chanted the Sri Mahisasura Mardhini sloka. The event concluded with a maha arati performed by priest S. Ramachandran.
Prasad was distributed to the devotees by committee members of the Madrasi Sammelani, including G. Shankar, (Chairman), V. Natarajan (Vice President), S. Subramanian (Secretary), Natarajan Siva (President of the Board of Trustees), Dr. Mahalingam Siva (Secretary), N. Srinivasan (Vice President), S. Ramesh (Honorary Treasurer), S. Raghavan (Assistant Treasurer), S. Shiv Kumar (Committee Member) and other members, who participated and helped in the proceedings of the Puja.
