Loyola School Telco students attend session on road safety awareness

Jamshedpur, Feb 6: The Loyola School Telco students of classes 7 and 8 attended a session on Road Safety Awareness organized in the school premises in association with Tata Motors. SP Menon, DG (Technical  Services) and Mr. Ramanuj Ojha ( Senior Safety Manager) of Tata Motors conducted the session during which School Principal Charanjeet Ohson, Administrator Father Gerry, Coordinator Zeenat Maria Sundi, and teachers were also present.

Various types of road accidents, their causes along with statistics were discussed. Several videos were shown to the students to reinforce the information ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’,  ‘Don’t Take Risk for A Few Seconds’ Gains’ and  ‘Pay Attention Before You Pay for It’. The key focus on the session was to encourage the students’ engagement in addressing road traffic accidents. Topics covered included pedestrian safety, wearing helmets with proper chin straps, proper use of zebra crossings, heeding all traffic signals, adhering to permitted speed limits, carrying driving licenses and other important documents, wearing seatbelts, restricting the use of cell phones while driving and responsible behaviour.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks and an urge to participants to use the knowledge gained and actively contribute to creating safer streets.
