Loyola School organises tree plantation drive on Childrens Day

Schools celebrate Childrens Day with fun and frolic

Jamshedpur, Nov. 14 : While Childrens Day is celebrated all over the country with much fun, frolic and fanfare, the activities of some schools in the city remind us of another reason to celebrate the occasion the limitless potential possessed by children to do good.

City schools have begun the trend of teaching their students social responsibility through programmes that give students a first hand look into the lives of the needy and underprivileged, and allow them to help bring about a positive change.

To celebrate Children’s Day with a difference, Loyola School organised a tree plantation drive at the campus. Principal Father Pius Fernandes along with functionaries of Loyola Alumni Association and school students participated in the drive. Along with it a DJ party was also organised at the school campus.

Various stalls of food items and fun games were put up by enthusiastic teachers. It was a festive atmosphere with children accompanied by their parents, participating in various activities. The idea was to look beyond the curriculum and celebrate their individuality.

There were even occasions when the children saw the requirements at the sites they visited and raised money. There are also plans to deliver a presentation on the importance of basic hygiene on their future visits, says a teacher.

These are just a few of the efforts being undertaken by the aforementioned schools and many others in the city to render some help to those in need, demonstrating that bringing up children with strong morals and values is as important a part of education as the content of their textbooks.

S.D.S.M. School for Excellence organized a Bal Mela. The funfair was embellished with a range of innovative and fun filled activities.

Chairman, Mr. Diwakar Singh accompanied with Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das honoured our beloved Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru by garlanding and lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The fete was inaugurated by Chairman, Diwakar Singh accompanied with Principal, Moushumi Das, who indeed provided an opportunity for the students to enjoy their childhood. An array of stalls with mouth watering food items and exciting games were the main attraction of the fete. Children equally enjoyed the dance floor and DJ. There were Lucky draw prizes in various rounds for keeping the interest of the students alive.

Chairman, Diwakar Singh took out the coupon for the lucky draw for the first round. Vice-Principal, Ragini Singh along with Junior School Co-ordinator, Subject Co-ordinators and teachers actively participated towards the successful mission of making children feel elated and special.
