Jamshedpur: In three separate road mishaps, two persons, including a woman were killed and as many persons were injured on Thursday morning.
A 30-year-old woman died after being hit by a truck near the Adityapur toll bridge crossing on Tata-Kandra Road in Adityapur, in another fatal mishap a 28-year-old youth was also killed on the spot on being hit by a dumper near Medhia village on Jadugora-Mosabani Road in Mosabani.
The injured woman later identified as Usha Sinha was rushed to a Primary Health Centre in Gamharia from where she was referred to Tata Main Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries in an hour.
Usha’s husband NK Sinha who was riding the scooter and was also injured seriously has been admitted at the Tata Main Hospital. The police have seized the truck and also arrested the driver.
OC, Adityapur police station Shusma Kumari confirmed that a woman was killed in a road mishap at Adityapur this morning.
�We are investigating the incident. We have seized the truck and also the driver. We are subjecting the driver for a medical examination to get it ascertained whether he was drunk,” said the OC.
At Mosaboni, 28-year-old youth, Ramdash Murmu was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a truck near Medhia village on Mosabani-Jadugora road under Mosabani thana area in Ghatshila sub-division this morning.
The victim, who was a resident of Benalopa village in Mosabani was going to Mosabani market as the mishap took place. The dumper driver fled the spot having abandoned the vehicle, leading the police to seize it.
In yet another incident, assistant sub-inspector (traffic) Awadhesh Kumar Singh was injured as driver of a car hit him during a vehicle checking drive on Kadma-Sonari Link Road under Kadma thana area this morning. The injured cop (38) who sustained injuries in the legs and waist line has been admitted at the Tata Main Hospital.
